"The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended and the Moorhouse's beers proved a refreshing alternative to wine. The fact that guests could sample locally produced product, view paintings by a local artist in a local gallery made it all the more special"
Ian Dugmore, Ainsworths Chartered Accountants
Following the launch of Trevor lingard's solo exhibition, invited guests of Ainsworth's Chartered Accountants enjoyed an evening demonstration of Trevor's watercolour technique. Trevor wowed us all with his 'taster' of a demonstration and left everyone thrilled and asking for more!
Guests also received a very informative and interesting talk by Bill Parkinson (Chairman of Moorhouse's Brewery (Burnley) Ltd, on real ale and the expansion of the Burnley Brewing Complex. Moorhouse's very kindly agreed to sponsor the evening, providing guests with a selection of their award-winning beers and as a personal friend and avid collector of Trevor's work, Bill remarked how proud he was to pay tribute to Trevor's skill and mastery of this most difficult medium.
"As a businessman I like to think that the things I buy for pleasure will also prove to be a sound investment and I've never been more sure of anything than the potential for appreciation in value of these paintings." Bill Parkinson, Chairman of Moorhouse's Brewery (Burnley) Ltd
Trevor Lingard's solo exhibition kickstarted a year of planned events and exhibitions in this the year of our 20th anniversary. Trevor had a hugely successful exhibition selling a total of 48 watercolour paintings with people coming from far and wide to attend the pre-view.
"Those cobbled streets and ice-cream coloured buildings have a way of making you feel at home, so much so you can almost smell the flowers." Elaine Cooper
Margaret's ever-popular distinctive sculptural pieces were given an extra dimension in this collection with the addition of crystals complementing her strong acrylic colours and embossed foil technique. Elaine continued her theme of crusty old shops and cafes that can be found in places like The Shambles in York and many other similar venues across the UK and Europe with an emphasis on the ice-cream colours of pistachio, strawberry and vanilla.
Todd White delighted his many fans and collectors who turned up in force to get a signed copy of his latest book `The Art of Todd White' and pre-view the Coca Cola Sketch set and bottles.
Todd commented on how he had thoroughly enjoyed being at the gallery on his last visit and really appreciated the very warm welcome he received yet again along with some lovely drawings of `SpongeBob SquarePants' from some of his younger fans.
Todd was also very touched when he learned that one of his fans had travelled all the way down from Scotland just to see him!
"On arrival at the gallery I was re-assured to find the work so expertly hung with an eye for balance and the gallery looking so vibrant and welcoming" Geoffrey Key
In our penultimate exhibition in this the year celebrating our 20th anniversary, we had the pleasure to stage a Retrospective Exhibition of works by Geoffrey Key. With the majority of paintings selling on the pre-view evening it was a reflection of how much Geoffrey's ever-growing list of collector's from the Ribble Valley and beyond, appreciated and valued his work.
Geoffrey commented, " I was truly delighted with the response of the people of North Lancashire who all seemed genually interested in the work. I do hope that the answers to the many questions I was asked were constructive and helped with understanding of the paintings. The event went by in a flash; indeed it was only towards the end that I realised I hadn't even taken off my top coat. I cannot say how many people I had the pleasure to meet and discuss my work with, my only regret is that, inevitably, I might have missed someone."

The collection showcased thirty five recent works of urban landscapes, historical landmarks and his ever- popular sailboats as well as many local areas such as Old Mitton Churchyard, Stonyhurst College, Whalley viaduct and Clitheroe castle in a variety of different media.
